What You Need:

One 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch or one 10 4-Port Workgroup Hub for each home network (What is the difference?).
A wired (Ethernet) network adapter for each computer you are adding to your home network. There are four different types of network adapters –the type you need depends upon how your computer is setup:

- USB 10/100 Network Adapter –this external adapter connects to a computer’s USB connector on the back of your computer. Check your computer to see if this is an option for you. This can work with both laptop and desktop computers.

- 10/100 Integrated PC Card –this adapter is for laptop computers and slides into a slot on your laptop.

- 10/100 LAN Card PCI Adapter –this adapter is for desktop computers and is installed inside of your computer.

- 10 LAN Card ISA Adapter –this adapter is for older desktop computers or computers that do not have a spare PCI slot and is installed inside of your computer.
One Ethernet cable for each computer that you are connecting.
