When a customer sends their steel coil to be split or cut into different widths, LevelTek tracks it through their plant from entry to exit so they know at any given moment exactly where in the process each coil can be located. This tracking software runs on a mainframe accessed by desktop computers set up on a network by CSInet Internet Access.

These networked computers also connect LevelTek to their corporate office in Benwood, Virginia using a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) over a high-speed wireless Internet connection CSInet provides.

"These coils can weigh from 10-40,000 pounds and can be either stainless or titanium steel," says Shane Hale, quality control manager, at LevelTek. "Since the customer owns the steel, they?ll call to find out exactly where it is and when it will be shipped to their facility." This steel is used in many products from aircraft to refrigerators.

The high-speed wireless access from CSInet is a boon for owners and customers needing Internet access via their laptops while at the La Porte plant. There?s no need to find a conference room or office with the proper cabling. As long as the laptop has a wireless card, Internet access is readily available.

CSInet Internet Access is a locally owned and operated small business established in 1995. They offer business and residential Internet access including high-speed wireless, DSL, and dial-up with 365 days a year technical support. Other business services include high-speed T1 dedicated lines, website hosting and design, server co-location, network setup, and VoIP phone service.
